Ferrite

Ferrite is a new type of non-metallic magnetic material developed in the 1940s. Because of its preparation process and appearance are very similar to ceramics, it is sometimes called magnetic porcelain. Ferrite generally refers to a composite oxide of an iron group and one or more other suitable metal elements, and belongs to a semiconductor, which is utilized as a magnetic medium.
Magnetite, whose main component is FezO4, is the simplest ferrite and the first non-metallic magnetic material used by humans. More than 3,000 years ago, China discovered the mutual attraction of magnets and the magnetic phenomenon of magnetite. At the end of the 11th century, China invented the compass and applied it to the cause of navigation.
